For LGBTQ+ young people, having an affirming community makes all the difference. Community is wherever you feel connected — that’s when we’re strongest. That’s the power of us. Our Trevor community shows up for each other, even in the face of incredible challenges. That’s why we’re excited to invite you to join another virtual fundraising challenge this Pride — so we can continue to show up for LGBTQ+ young people.

We’re asking our community to commit to logging 52 miles — however it feels best to move — all in effort of supporting our mission to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people. You’ll also engage with the community on our Pride Ride Facebook group, celebrating each other’s wins and everything that makes the LGBTQ+ and allied community so powerful. Last year, our 51 Mile Pride Ride raised over $1.6 million, with over 30,000 supporters joining. Let’s keep that energy going this year!

Follow these simple steps to join our 52 Mile Pride Ride:

  • Register in Facebook Messenger now to log your miles all month. Choose to create a team or participate solo!
  • Follow this link and we’ll automatically create a fundraiser with all the right settings on your behalf. You can edit the details on Facebook upon creation.

This year, Pride couldn’t be a more important celebration. In the face of rising anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, The Trevor Project remains here for LGBTQ+ young people through free, confidential 24/7 suicide prevention and crisis services, ongoing public education, advocacy, and research initiatives. Your support powers that work and powers our community to continue defending LGBTQ+ young people today and tomorrow.

Q: What if my miles are incorrect or I receive an error?
A: To correct your total activity in Messenger, type “Menu” then enter, click on “Record miles” and then click “Edit my total miles.” Let us know if you still experience issues.

Q: How do we participate as a team?
A: When you register in Messenger, you will be prompted to take on the challenge solo or as a team. Follow the prompts to build out your team!

Q: Can I do a different activity?
A: While the challenge is designed for miles, if you want to do another activity, you’re more than welcome.

Q: What do I do if I started a Facebook fundraiser for The Trevor Project but not specifically for the challenge?
A: A Facebook fundraiser for The Trevor Project is the same as a fundraiser for this challenge. Thanks for supporting Trevor’s mission.

Thank you so much for your support, and best of luck with the challenge!

In Defense Of Saying Gay/Trans

Last week, we saw the passage of HB 1557, also known as the “Don’t Say Gay/Trans” bill, by the Florida state Senate. This bill will ban classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in schools, and appears to threaten LGBTQ support in schools and includes vague parental notification requirements which could effectively “out” students to their families without their consent. This bill, which has passed at every level of the Florida state legislature, now awaits the governor’s final decision before being signed into law. The potential impact of the passage of “Don’t Say Gay/Trans” on the health and happiness…

Practicing Self-Care, Step-by-Step

If you find yourself feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or just “off,” you’re not alone. Everyone needs to take care of themselves, even if it’s just enjoying a quick snack or doing simple breathing exercises. Self-care is essential, but it can be challenging to make time for it. And if you struggle with your mental health, it can be even tougher to make self-care a part of your routine. To make self-care a little easier, we made a guide that will take you step-by-step through different forms of self-care. You don’t have to follow it to the letter, but we hope this…
