Youth's Lives Every Day
We are proud to announce that The Trevor Project has been selected as a beneficiary of the Elton John Impact Awards — a unique digital program created in collaboration with P&G, iHeartMedia, and The Looking Out Foundation. The Elton John Impact Awards (EJIA) celebrate and honor the icons, legends and trailblazers who have made a meaningful cultural impact on the LGBTQ+ community through their bodies of work, while providing critical support to a series of nonprofit organizations that support the LGBTQ+ community day in and day out.
The Elton John Impact Awards were established to inspire a new generation of changemakers. By recognizing public figures who use their voices for good, the program creates a bridge that translates visibility and representation into tangible support and action for the LGBTQ+ community.
This year, the Elton John Impact Awards proudly recognize Jonathan Bailey, Laverne
Cox, Melissa Etheridge, Billie Jean King, Orville Peck and Chappell Roan for using their platforms to uplift the LGBTQ+ community and create a more equitable world.
As part of this cultural celebration, The Trevor Project will receive a grant to help us continue operating and growing our life-saving support system for LGBTQ+ youth. Established 28 years ago to create resources uniquely tailored to LGBTQ+ young people, The Trevor Project is still working around the clock to close the care gap and reach the more than 1.8 million LGBTQ+ youth in the U.S. who seriously consider suicide each year. Alongside The Trevor Project, the awards program is also benefiting nonprofits CenterLink, GLAAD, National Black Justice Collective, Outright International, and SAGE. We are honored to be in the company of such a powerful group of organizations building a brighter future for the LGBTQ+ community.
The Elton John Impact Awards will come to life as a podcast audio special airing on June 1, 2026. The program can be heard across 300+ iHeartRadio stations, on the iHeartRadio app, and everywhere podcasts are heard.
Hosted by the incomparable Billy Porter and Elvis Duran, the special features intimate conversations with Elton John, David Furnish, and the honorees as they reflect on their personal journeys of advocacy. The broadcast will also feature a special performance of “Your Song” by multi-platinum singer-songwriter Dove Cameron. Program content also includes leadership voices from the nonprofit beneficiaries, including The Trevor Project’s Senior Director of Communications, Jackson Budinger.
The support from EJIA builds upon a strong foundation of allyship. Since 2020, Procter & Gamble has remained a valued year-round partner, providing transformational grants to support The Trevor Project’s work. We’re honored to once again be recognized by P&G, iHeart, and Brandi Carlile’s Looking Out Foundation, along with this year’s celebrity honorees, as a beneficiary of the Elton John Impact Awards.
